One of the most important things I’ve learned while running a small business is that you can’t do it on your own.
There are simply too many things that clients might want, and not enough time for one person to complete all the tasks. For this reason it is important to team up with other people just like you.
For example, I have teamed up with a media buying company, a designer, a web design company, a direct media company and many more. All these companies can do things that I cannot and in return I help them with areas in which they may not excel. I team up with others who can do more visually creative projects because I do not excel in the creation of design work. Knowing that design is not my strong suit, I look for other companies who excel in that area, but maybe need someone who is in need of a writer. Together we are able to help each other with the areas that we do not excel.
Creating partnerships is an incredibly important tool when you work for yourself because it shows that you accept your downfalls but have found ways to compensate.
Humans tend to work better in teams and even though we may work alone, it doesn’t mean we have to go it alone. So go on, start creating those partnerships!
