There are several ways to run a social media campaign that will show your customers you care about providing knowledge alongside the information about your company. My two favorite ways of running a campaign is by including activities that are occurring in the town your business is rooted in, and by including relevant twitter accounts into your twitter feed.
What does this mean exactly? It means that if you own a hotel you would want to give your guests information about what activities are happening in town that might interest them, or food specials within walking distance so they can find a good place to eat.
Example: “If you’re staying with us this weekend make sure you check out the town festival Friday and Saturday night from 6-10 p.m.” (then link to a page with more information).
Going the extra step will provide them with tips they may not have known or wouldn’t have taken the time to figure out on their own. This is especially important if your customers are from out-of-town.
This tip isn’t just for hotels, but can also be extended to any company where your customers might be looking for something to do, something to eat, or a great deal.
Example: An airline parking lot may want to give followers travel deals so if the customer books a trip and obtained the information from the parking company, they are more likely to leave their car with them while the customer travels.
Pairing up with a company nearby is also a good idea. If you are a restaurant who doesn’t serve breakfast, but you know one that isn’t open for lunch and dinner you may decide to work together to give more attention to each other’s social media accounts. You aren’t infringing on the other’s business while getting your message out to another group of people. It’s a win-win for both of you.

The second option would be to provide the followers with industry news. This makes your page a one stop shop for information about your company as well as allowing your followers to see what is happening in the news without having to search it out themselves. This could be something as simple as retweeting other accounts in your industry that put out content you feel pertains to your company or industry. The less you have to make your customers work, the more they like you.
This trick makes your account useful even if they aren’t in need of your services at that given time. It allows your information to be current, show you understand your business as well as keep your company in the forefront of people’s minds. If you were always posting about your company and nothing else, you may wind up being blocked by your followers and then your account is useless.
These tips are just a few of the ways you can create a more well-rounded social media campaign.
